
Surprise Police have identified the two men involved in Saturday’s plane crash in a Surprise neighborhood. The plane, which has been identified as a fixed wing, single engine 1956 Beech G35 aircraft, crash landed into a greenbelt area near several homes in the area of 14000 West Fire Mesa Trail in Surprise.
The Surprise Police report that one of the men involved, Joshua Merrill, a 31 year old Peoria resident, passed away during surgery. The other occupant in the crash, Michael Fox, remains in serious condition.
Fox, a 32 year old resident of Glendale AZ, has been moved into an Intensive Care Unit where remains under close observation.
Investigators from both the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) continue to assist the Surprise Police Department in the plane crash investigation.
