Tucson Police detectives have continued their investigation into Sunday’s early morning homicide at a residence in the 5600 block of E. 26th St. They have learned two of the men involved in the incident were brothers and had known the third male for a long period of time.
One brother lived at the residence with the third male.
On October 16, 2016 the other brother, identified as 23-year-old Ryan Johnson, visited the residence. The three men were having a conversation outside that turned into a physical altercation.
During the course of the altercation, Mr. Johnson produced a handgun and shot his brother and the other male. The homeowner retreated into his residence, closed the door and retrieved a gun.
A short time later, Mr. Johnson forced his way into the residence, still armed with a handgun. The homeowner discharged his weapon several times, striking Mr. Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was pronounced deceased on scene. Next of kin have been notified.
The detectives are continuing this investigation and once the investigation is complete, the case will be presented to the Pima County Attorney’s Office for review.
