Pima County detectives have identified the body found in a Green Valley wash on Monday as that of 37-year-old William Kenneth Darrow.
On Monday, December 5, 2016, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Pima County Green Valley District deputies responded to the area of North Abrego Drive and East El Valle for reports of a man down. When deputies arrived, they learned that a jogger had located a male in the wash area who appeared to be deceased.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene and took over the investigation. Detectives identified the male as Mr. Darrow. Upon further investigation, it was found that Mr. Darrow was listed as a missing person from his home in Green Valley as of December 1, 2016.
On Friday, November 25, 2016, Mr. Darrow’s mother had requested deputies conduct a check welfare on her son, as she had not heard from him in two days. Deputies responded to his residence in the 300 block of South Abrego Drive in Green Valley. Upon arrival, they noticed his door was open, but there was no sign of him at the home. On December 1, 2016, Mr. Darrow’s mother still had not heard from her son, and requested he be listed as a missing person.
Initial indications show that Mr. Darrow’s death may be accidental; however, the investigation is ongoing pending an autopsy.
