FutureKiddie, a tech education provider based in Chandler, has announced their membership with the Arizona Charter Schools Association. The new arrangement allows the company to offer computer classes for kids, and low-cost refurbished PC’s through its sister company, The Mighty PC, to charter schools statewide
Ken Chan, co-owner of FutureKiddie and The Mighty PC, says “We’re excited about this relationship with charter schools. This will allow us to help more kids sharpen their tech skills and also provide computers to schools with limited budgets.”
Chan founded the FutureKiddie program with his sister, Linda Chan, in 2010. The business owners and computer instructors currently provide the tech classes at 19 Valley schools.
The FutureKiddie program introduces children from preschool through 3rd grade to basic computer skills through software that uses stories and games that involve STEM principles (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), reading, keyboarding and coding.
The Mighty PC offers customized, high-quality, refurbished laptops and desktops at a discount to schools, business and families nationwide with up to 3 year warranties on hardware and free delivery on orders over $50.
According to Van Phan, owner of the Goddard School in Gilbert, “Future Kiddie comes to our school every week to conduct the computer classes. After 3 years the program remains a major hit at our school. The students look forward to their sessions and the real results – our student’s knowledge in using computers – is obvious.”
Soon after the Chan’s began teaching the FutureKiddie program, teachers and parents began asking about inexpensive PC options. The brother and sister team decided to recondition top consumer rated, business-grade, used Dell and HP models and founded Ironman Computers is 2011. The company was recently rebranded as The Mighty PC.
In addition to the announced charter school membership, The Mighty PC is a registered vendor for state and local school districts and provides technology solutions to public schools. The company also offers bulk sales of their computers.
Ken Chan adds, “As computer teachers, we understand the needs of educators. Our goal is to offer schools needed technical education programs for students but also help with high-quality PC options that are affordable.”
