Sen. Jeff Flake has been trying to win them over, but on Tuesday he lost the support of previously fawning progressives. They turned on him for comments he made about Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
Flake praised Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, and panned Kavanaugh. Blasey Ford accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her when they were both in high school. Flake described Blasey Ford as “very compelling.”
Flake made the comments during an interview on ABC’s The View.
