DiCiccio proposes plan to help homeless

Phoenix City Councilman Sal DiCiccio hand-delivered a letter to Mayor Stanton, the Phoenix City Council and City Manager David Cavazos to ask them to assemble immediately a blue-ribbon panel of experts to address the growing, chronic problem Phoenix faces with over 6,000 homeless individuals and families.

DiCiccio stated, “Our city has shown incredible success when we put a direct focus on particular issues that need to be solved. I want the best experts with the highest compassion to help us deal expeditiously with this saddening problem.”

Currently, there are about 6,000 homeless people in metro Phoenix and about 15-to 20-percent in metro Phoenix are chronically homeless.

“While Phoenix clearly is a leader in the valley on addressing homelessness, I believe we can be much better, and move this issue to a higher priority,” added DiCiccio.

Councilman DiCiccio is asking the City to pull together the best manpower in bringing together public and private groups to fight this chronic issue facing Phoenix.
