Arizona lawmakers aim for 2014 Kumbayah legislative session

az-legThe 2014 legislative session appears to be on track to be a Kumbayah session.

In interviews with the Republic’s Joanna Allhands, legislative leaders Biggs, Tovar, Mesnard and Gallego each outlined almost identical priorities for their caucuses for the 2014 session.

Ruben Gallego, the assistant minority leader for the House, commented with a bit of a smirk that it will be just another useless year for Democrats with little to show for the effort, unless they can get a handful of crony capitalist Republicans like Orr, Dial, Worsley and McComish to join Gov. Brewer in playing ball with Democrats, like they did last year to pass Medicaid expansion.

All four emphasized K-12 and CPS as priorities but not necessarily ranking any of them in any particular order.
