On May 13, 2015, just after 1:30 p.m., Tucson police officers responded to a report of a collision involving a motorcycle and a sedan at the intersection of N. Kolb Road and E. Broadway Boulevard.
The investigation revealed the rider of a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle, 59-year-old Ronald Sullivan, was northbound on Kolb Road in the left turn lane at Broadway Boulevard, behind another vehicle. The vehicle in front of the rider made a westbound turn on the green light and the rider followed but made a U-turn. The driver of a 2011 Dodge Caliber was southbound on Kolb Road proceeding through the green light and struck the rider. The rider was wearing a helmet.
The Tucson Fire Department responded to the scene and the rider was transported to Banner University Medical Center for a fractured leg. The injury was considered non-life-threatening at that time. The driver of the Dodge did not sustain any injuries.
On June 16, 2015 Mr. Sullivan suffered complications from the injury related to the collision and was pronounced deceased.
