On Saturday, November 14, 2015 Glendale Police Officers responded to a stabbing at an apartment complex near 55th Avenue and Camelback Road. Upon arrival, officers located 27-year old Miguel Adame, a Glendale resident, who had suffered a stab wound. Officers provided aid until the fire department arrived to treat Adame. He was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced deceased.
Initial responding officers were able to obtain a description of the vehicle that the suspect had left in and it was broadcast over the radio. A patrol officer located a vehicle matching that description and a high-risk traffic stop was conducted near 67th Avenue and Camelback Road. Three occupants were detained, including 32-year old Jeffrey Kirby, of Glendale. Kirby was arrested and booked for the death of Miguel Adame. He was charged with Second Degree Homicide.
Detectives responded to assume the investigation. The investigation has since revealed that Adame and Kirby had been in a nearby apartment unit and left together. In the parking lot they engaged in an argument over disputed property. At some point during the argument, Kirby stabbed Adame and then fled as a passenger in the vehicle stopped by police. Kirby was the only person arrested in relation to his homicide.
