Carlson to hold Marana Unified School District town hall meeting

maranaTom Carlson does something few if any, school board members do; he meets face-to-face with his constituents. His May town hall will be held at the Nanini library Monday, May 12, at 6 p.m.

Unlike impersonal newsletters which provide for little interaction, Carlson engages win a back-and-forth with parents, teachers, students, and other District stakeholders. As schools continue to leave stakeholders out of policy making, and push parents away from classrooms, Carlson offers a rare opportunity to hear the thinking behind decision making and a chance to change it.

According Carlson, the agenda for the Monday meeting includes the district’s preliminary budget, and a relatively minor school boundary change.
