From Greg Bryne Wildcat Wednesday:
Now this is going to be fun! We talk all the time about the impact a successful football program can have on generating positive exposure for the University, the Tucson community and the state of Arizona. You won’t find many better examples of this being true than what’s about to transpire this weekend. We are delighted to host our friends from ESPN and ABC and are thankful for the opportunity they are giving us to shine on a national stage.
College GameDay will be making its first trip to Tucson since 2009. They will set up their operation on the UA Mall with historic Old Main serving as the backdrop. ESPN’s College Football Live will originate from campus on Friday at 11 a.m. MST and SportsCenter will have live hits from the location throughout the day on Friday. The main show will be Saturday morning from 6-9 a.m. There is no charge to attend and parking will be free in the Tyndall, Main Gate and 6th Street garages (but you must vacate the garage by 10 a.m.).
You can find more information about College GameDay HERE (scroll down).
Later that day, we’ll host the big football game vs. the 9th-ranked UCLA Bruins. A game so big, ABC has selected it for its national prime time broadcast. The 5 p.m. start is a little earlier than we’re used to in September, but the trade off is well worth it. This game is being advertised nationally throughout the week on ABC and the ESPN family of networks and will be seen by millions of people Saturday night. It’s a great opportunity for college football fans to see what Rich Rodriguez is building in the desert!

Now that the stage is set, we need you, Wildcat Nation, to “Be There!” Help show everyone Tucson deserves to be mentioned in the conversation for top college football hot-spots by showing up to College GameDay and, more importantly, filling Arizona Stadium to capacity. There are still tickets available for the game, so click HERE to buy online.
Tucson will be the center of the college football world this weekend. It doesn’t get much bigger than this. Do your part and “Be There!” And it’s a RED OUT, so wear RED!
